Why do I want to join committee?

I want to join committee to have the opportunity of putting my love and appreciation of our society to good use. In such a short amount of time LUU Street has gone from being a small society I wanted to give a go in freshers week to one of the best choices I have made since moving to university. Committee means being able to work alongside some of my closest friends and those who impacted my experience at Leeds for the better, it makes me wonder if I could create that foundation once again for the new and returning members of LUU street next year, a challenge I’m willing to take on, even if it means watching as another fresher takes my place and has the same experience I was honoured to have!

What would I personally bring to LUU Street as Vice?

I want to take on the challenge of, continuing the huge success achieved over the past years!
I want LUU Street to get the recognition it deserves at Leeds, as people majorly overlook its huge success and quality all because it’s a smaller society, but it is so much more than that. I will do this by not shying away from promotion across all social media, working closely alongside the PR secretary to form a consistent presence online that will attract both current and future students; societies can hugely impact both one’s decision on which university to pick and someone’s experience at university altogether. Building a bigger presence for the society tells people they have made the correct decision in coming to Leeds and joining street! (I am in fact evidence of this)

I think of myself as a very positive and confident person who can find humour in many things, I want to use this to ensure there is welcoming, judgement free, fun-loving atmosphere of each class and each rehearsal, getting to know each person as an individual building personal confidence for all, encouraging unique individuality all whilst creating a close-knit bond and togetherness across the whole society; making sure all members are proud to call themselves a member of LUU Street, whether they compete or are casual attendees to weekly classes!

Lastly, I want the opportunity to use my knowledge and training in a range of street styles and my experience with a vast number of creatives to help in training and creating unique, powerful, and VICTORIOUS routines! There is nothing I love more than dancing and creating alone and in collaboration with others, being Vice president gives me the opportunity to not only share my own ideas and creations, but also to learn from and collaborate with all the talented people I will work and train alongside; I won't view Vice President as a position of hierarchy but a position of opportunity :)
