Hey guys, I’m Jake, a second year Computer Science 💻 student who’s been karting for 9 years!

🌟 Our previous Captain Kerion and VC Nic have left a lot to live up to. They have organised brilliant BUKC events all year round, setting a high standard for those who follow. Their hard work and dedication showed at the beginning of the year when we qualified 5️⃣ teams in to the BUKC!

So, how am I going to match their high standards?

⏳ I have been at every BUKC event this year, so I know how they’re run and coordinated to be efficient and well organised. We've also been extremely successful with a string of podiums over the last year 🏆, this is a trend I will continue as Captain

📅 I have been karting for 9 years - since I started in Year 7! Winning the NatSKA National Finals 🥇 I’ve continued with my journey and jumped into university karting

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We had extremely high demand for BUKC last year and struggled to get everyone involved. I will work hard to ensure as many people as possible can attend. This will include the option to come along and support if you’re not racing

🎫 You need a licence to be able to race in the BUKC, I will make sure we give the opportunity to obtain this to as many of you as possible. That includes those that just missed out last year.

🥳 We’re still recovering from covid 🦠 so socials have been limited, I will work closely with the other members of the committee to ensure our calendar is jam packed with more social events!

🥓 And of course, as is tradition, I will ensure any hotels we stay at are suitably close to a maccies for breakfast
