I believe that I should be the next Vice Captain for Leeds Motorsport Society. I have always had a keen interest in motorsport, from riding motorbikes when younger to attending every karting session that Leeds has offered. But there’s no dispute as to my interest in motorsport, you’re interested in why I deserve to fill the Vice Captain role for next years committee.

Well, I’m no stranger to leadership, I have completed every DofE in which I assumed the role of the leader, taking a group of 5-6 individuals over 100+ miles (in total) of unfamiliar terrain using only a map and a compass. I have been entrusted to be in positions of power all throughout my academic life, starting off as an ambassador in primary school and then becoming head boy and the head of numerous other societies in highschool. To further evidence this, I have been entrusted by the police cadets to be a leader of their cadet unit, this involved me organising events, managing people, answering any queries or concerns and much more.

As the Vice Captain I will go above and beyond in my role, continuing what the current committee have started and aim to keep the society moving higher and higher. I will also support the Captain via close communication to ensure that we are working as one unit, ensuring the smooth and efficient managing and running of the society.

My name is Henry Hudson, I study Journalism and I am just coming to towards the end of my first year. After gaining my BUKC license at Whilton Mill in October I have raced in all subsequent rounds of the Inters championship and after a rocky start to the season I managed to achieve two top-10 finishes at both Shenington and Llandow. If voted as Vice-captain I would continue to support and contribute to the BUKC teams and help any newcomers who have joined adapt to the championship. Throughout my first year I have greatly enjoyed giving my time to the society and would use my position on the committee to continue the success of the BUKC team, the TDY and the society as a whole.
