After arriving at university for my first year, I discovered how far away my accommodation was from campus, and in turn how far it was from many popular clubs and bars. I would often feel unsafe walking alone at night which led me to research ways to stay safe in Leeds and to the discovery of this society. Since then I have helped the current committee out at a few events and have loved every minute of it.
As a social secretary, I want to have more events more often for members in order to better promote ways for everyone to stay safe in Leeds at night. I also want to use the Right to Walk instagram as a way to promote resources and other safety events in Leeds.
I study Fashion Marketing and this gives me the skills to successfully plan events and promote them, as well as a thorough understanding of how to use and apply social media.
