Hello! I’m Juliette, a first-year Physics student and a dedicated violinist in both the String Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra. Music and performance have always been central to my life, whether through singing, playing the violin and piano, or performing in musical theatre. I’m passionate about creating opportunities for everyone to experience the thrill of performing, which is why I am excited to run for Freshers' Representative.

In this role, I aim to make music accessible to everyone and to foster an environment where all freshers feel welcomed and encouraged. I believe that my friendly, approachable, and open-minded nature will help me connect with other students, making it easier for them to communicate their feedback. I know that meeting new people can be intimidating, and I want to help bridge that gap as a fellow fresher. I am a hardworking and committed individual, ready to bring a positive and enthusiastic energy to the team, and I’m excited to make the LUUMS freshers' experience as vibrant and enjoyable as possible!

My name is Bethan, I play flute, harp and saxophone and currently play in both SWO and concert band. I think I would be perfect for the role as I feel that I'm appraochable and also good at talking to people as well as communicating my ideas and thoughts in a committee meeting setting, as well as raising the issues and thoughts of other freshers who are invovlved in Luums, and I also have extensive experience in working with other people, and I understand the value of others thoughts and opinions . I would also bring a number of ideas, some of which have been suggested to me by other freshers alreadys such as ideasabout how to create more intermingling accross years, how to encourage more people to attend the socials, and make them more appealing, particularly to freshers. I would also bring suggestions from other freshers such as having input in what repetoire played in ensembles, as some have told me they would like to have some input in that, if possible. I would also bring ideas about how participation in non-auditioned groups could be advertised more and be made more appealing to non-music students, to get more people invovled. With this, I hope you will consider my nomination for Freshers rep, this year.

I’m a positive person and I love to fill the atmosphere with the same enjoyment that I feel. I’m currently studying music psychology and I am part of the chorus society, which I’m very much enjoying so far. It’s a high energy atmosphere which allows everyone can be themselves.
I’m applying for this role to advocate for any freshers who are part of the society to ensure they are okay and are having the best time they can do while being part of LUUMS and university itself. I will bring happiness and positivity to the role. I will also give people a chance to come to me with anything that they are feeling and are comfortable sharing.

Hi, I’m Nathaniel (he/him), I’m a first year Mechanical Engineering student. You’ll find me playing French horn and wearing shorts, crocs and odd socks in Sinfonia, Symph and Concert band most weeks as well as at the LUUMS socials and in the Old Bar after rehearsals. I would love to be first year rep so that I can feedback both my own and others’ experiences of being a fresher in LUUMS as well as keeping freshers up to date on all things LUUMS and being a friendly face to come to with any questions or concerns. If chosen I feel I can improve what is already a great experience for LUUMS freshers with multiple ideas I already have as well as the ideas of all the freshers.
