Hi everyone!

I’m Bianca, currently finishing my first year of EEE, and I’m applying for Social Secretary. ShockSoc has been one of the best parts of my university experience, and I’d love the chance to help continue the welcoming, social atmosphere that makes it so enjoyable.

Throughout 2025/2026, I’ve enthusiastically attended ShockSoc events, socials, and Robot Fighting League, meeting people across different years and getting to know many active members. These experiences have shown me how important a strong social scene is in helping people feel included and excited to get involved.

I’m outgoing and enjoy bringing people together. Back home, I often organised outings and group activities, so planning events is something I genuinely enjoy. I like making sure everyone feels comfortable and keen to come along.

As Social Secretary, I’d aim to organise a wide range of events so there’s something for everyone, from themed socials, Otley runs, arcade trips, movie and games nights, karaoke, and quiz nights, through to larger events like the EEE Ball and trips to other cities. I’d also collaborate with a variety of societies across the university, including sports, arts, cultural, and volunteering groups, to bring fresh ideas into socials, create more varied events, and strengthen the wider university community by helping people meet beyond their course.

I’d focus on clear organisation and communication, ensuring events are well advertised in advance with all key details like timings, locations, and dress codes. Good planning makes events more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

I’d genuinely love the opportunity to take on this role and help make ShockSoc even more fun, inclusive, and memorable next year.
