Hey wildlings!

My name is Annie, and I am running for President of Wilderness Medicine this year.

As many of you know well, I absolutely LOVE wilderness medicine - it is literally the best thing in the whole wide world. I am running for President this year because I feel very passionately about this society, and I hope that I can continue it's legacy as the best society of all moving into 2027.

But enough about how great Wilderness Medicine is, let's talk about why I would be a good choice to represent you all as the President of WM. I joined the society back in 2024, and since then, have become very involved in everything wilderness. I have held the role of trip sec this year, and have loved organising the trips, especially Northern Trials which we hosted successfully back in Feb! Before I joined WM, I have held the role of secretary for Rugby League, and Publicity Rep for Students for Global Health, so I feel I have a vast amount of knowledge when it comes to running a successful society.

Besides my committee experience, I will be a 5th year medical student as of September, and with 4 years of medicine behind me, I am well suited to support the learning of all other keen wilderness medics! I have loved teaching this year, and am very keen to keep this going into the next academic year.

I like to think I am organised, reliable and enthusiastic, with leadership experience behind me, and therefore I think I would be an excellent choice for WM President. Ultimately, I believe whole heartedly in our newly made-up motto - stay cool, stay calm and stay kind - an essential part of being a well-rounded and compassionate wilderness medic :))
