Hello Wildlings!

I’m Adriana, a second year medical student, and I would love to be your new Trip Sec! Being part of WM for two years now, this is a role that I know comes with the great responsibility of organising all of the amazing adventures this society goes on.

We are so lucky to have such wonderful nature in Yorkshire (and its neighbouring counties!) and I really want to make the most of it next year with exciting destinations and routes, whether that’s for a weekend away or day hikes.

I am well organised, a great communicator and I know I would go into this role with a great support system from the rest of the committee. I really want to strive for the best trips next year, filled with valuable teaching, so I will make sure to complete trip related tasks to my best ability!

If Wilderness Med needs a Gandalf, I’d love to give it a go – although I’ll admit I’m probably more of an enthusiastic hobbit with a map than an all-knowing wizard. That said, I’m very keen to help get everyone to the right place (eventually) and have a great time doing it.

Over the past year I’ve really enjoyed being part of the society, especially Northern Trials, mountain rescue weekends, and teaching sessions. Those experiences have shown me how much goes into making trips run well, and I’d love to be part of making more of those happen next year.

As a Sergeant in Air Cadets, I’ve had experience with route planning and organising activities, so I understand the importance of preparation, communication, and keeping things running smoothly. I’m keen to build on this and develop my confidence with planning as part of the role.

I’m organised, reliable, and happy to put the work in—whether that’s sorting logistics, admin, or finding good (and affordable!) places for trips.

Most importantly, I’m approachable and genuinely enjoy the social side of the society — I’d love to help plan trips that are not just well-run, but also really fun and welcoming for everyone.

Hello Wildlings,
I’m Ella, an ecology and conservation student going into second year as of September. I joined wilderness medicine this year and already feel very passionately about it, having completed a Mountain Rescue weekend away and northern wild trials.
The trips have been fun and inclusive with lots of opportunity for learning, so I want to continue that into the coming year.
If I were voted, I want to plan a variety of weekend trips filled with hiking and learning, as well as possible day trips to some stunning local locations similar to the GIAG days.
I don’t have experience of being in a society committee but I am committed, well-organised and motivated, and believe I could excel in this position with the help of the rest of committee.
