ROLE OUTLINE:

Treasurer role mainly involves learning the ins and outs of the cash office and working out how their slightly frustrating system works.

It’s important to be able to work with the other committee members as you'll be involved with most events where booking venues or transport is necessary.

Having an idea of how to handle money is quite good, as you'll need to be able to make the call on whether the society has enough funds for everything you want to do.

Working with the social sec to organise the weekend away was a large part of the role, deciding what price range we could afford and with what subsidy for the members.

The secretary will also need to be shown the cash office as they are also signed on to use it in case the treasurer can't or needs someone else to make a transaction in certain cases.

All the account information and how the cash office works can be shown in the handover or discussed whenever if people want an idea of how it all works.
