I am excited to return as a third-year Medical Engineering student and candidate for Engineering Chair of the MedTech Society, bringing both my experience founding the society and the industry insight I have gained over the past year during my placement at Siemens Healthineers, one of the world’s leading MedTech companies.

When I first envisioned the MedTech Society, my goal was to build a collaborative and interdisciplinary community bringing together students from engineering, healthcare, science, business, and technology through a shared interest in innovation within MedTech. Since then, it has been incredibly rewarding to see how much the society has grown and the strong community that has developed around it. I am very proud of what the 2025–2026 committee has achieved, and I am eager to build on this progress by contributing my technical experience, industry insight, connections, and ideas.

During my placement year at Siemens Healthineers, I developed a deeper understanding of the MedTech industry at scale, gaining insight into how collaboration, innovation, and engineering precision come together to deliver real impact in healthcare. Working alongside manufacturing engineers, technicians, and R&D engineers gave me first-hand exposure to how technical problem-solving is applied in a real-world engineering environment.

If elected, as Engineering Chair I would aim to strengthen the technical and applied learning side of the society by building closer links with industry and expanding access to networking and speaker opportunities with a stronger engineering focus. I would also look to develop more hands-on, project-based initiatives that allow students to apply their technical knowledge to real MedTech challenges.

My vision is and has always been for the MedTech Society to continue evolving into a space that not only connects students to the MedTech industry, but actively empowers them to mould, innovate, and lead within it.

Hi guys, I’m running for Engineering Chair.

I’m going to be in my 2nd year as a Mechatronics and Robotics student, on the Film Committee, and my Laidlaw Scholarship starts this June. For my summer project, I’m joining a lab to help set up a pipeline where a Franka Panda arm robot learns from VR controller demonstrations.

I want to use my upcoming lab exposure to bring the coolest tech trends directly to our events:

Behind-the-Scenes Tech Scouting: I am going into the lab this June to learn industry-standard frameworks like ROS and PyTorch from scratch. As I learn them, I want to bring that fresh, real-world perspective back to the committee to help shape what technical topics, software tools, and digital twin concepts we highlight in our events.

A Bridge to the Labs: Since I'll be working directly with advanced hardware like the Franka Panda arm, I can act as a link between our society and the university's robotics labs, helping us find cool tech to feature or demo at our panels.

The Visual Tech Edge: I understand optics and perspective. I want to help our committee explore how visual tech—like VR, AR, and simulation—is changing how surgeons train and work in medical robotics.

I might be just starting my journey with these advanced software tools this summer, but I have the curiosity, the lab access, and the drive to make sure our committee stays on top of where MedTech is heading towards!
