The role of the coxes captain involves weekly planning, coxing seminars, the recruitment and development of new coxes, crew selection, race planning and the welfare of the squad. It is a challenging role, working with Head of Sport to make sure coxes are getting coaching and development as well as working with captains to find the best cox for the crew. It is extremely rewarding role as you get to seeing the improvement in a coxes development and the creation of a great cox/crew relationship that can go on to race and enjoy the experience of this amazing sport.
