The role of social secretary is to organise events throughout the year, both sober and drinking, to enable a full integration of the club across squads. Your role is to be a friendly face in the club that people can approach, both on and off socials. You also have to organise the 2 annual balls (Christmas and Summer) which involves speaking to various venues, coordinating with other committee members and venue staff to ensure a smooth running of the evening. Throughout the term you will have to organise socials weekly with a 1:1 ratio of drinking and sober. This involves planning the terms socials early, speaking to pubs/events spaces and club organisers to gain discounted tickets for the society.
