Hi everyone! My name is Milan Gupte and I'm a second-year Business Management student. I've always been passionate about organizing and planning events. As someone that aims to make a career in the event management and marketing field, I believe that my degree as well as co-curriculars have helped me to develop the necessary skills to succeed in the industry. I've recently completed an event management module and study marketing as a part of my degree, I believe that the knowledge of these two fields is very important to be able to be successful in this role. I'm a great team player and leader, I enjoy meeting new people. During my role as a Student Ambassador at Hazaar, I have actively participated in organizing on-campus events which involved meeting new people and spreading awareness about the brand. As a Planning Director at Hear Her Out, I work closely with the PR & Communications team to plan events as well as to come up with marketing strategies. If I am given the opportunity to be a part of WILS, I will aim to increase engagement with society by using my connections to plan events that can be enjoyed not only by students in the arts and humanities field but also those outside of it. I will also aim to make collaborations that will help society grow bigger.

Hey everyone! I'm Camila Ramos, and I'm running for the Arts & Humanities Director role at WILS. I’m currently a second-year Journalism student. This would be the first time I’m part of WILS, and I would love to take this opportunity to demonstrate how important is for women to take on the creative industries! This academic year, I’ve been the News Editor at The Gryphon and the Activities Officer at LMS (Leeds Media Students) where I’ve organised, alongside an incredible women-only committee, a successful Christmas ball as well as regular social and academic events catered for students interested in joining the media industry. The skills and experiences that I have developed within the industry, including my upcoming summer placements, have helped me build strong connections which I believe are valuable for this role. I plan to help WILS grow within the local and national creative sectors and make collaborations with them happen! I would love to join this phenomenal committee and all the arts & humanities students who also want to fight for equity in the creative industries. :)

Hello, my name is Maia Hutton Mackay and I would love the opportunity to be the Arts and Humanities Director for WILS. I was a member last year and felt so inspired by the amazing women who make up the society so would love to represent them in this role.

I will be going into my final year studying Classical Civilisations next year and am currently on my placement working as an assistant for a fashion company. My job this year has massively built up my organisation skills as well as my experience and connections in the creative industry. At the beginning of the year I participated in a research project with the British School at Athens which involved a lot of international correspondence and collaborative working. However, my interests in the humanities extend past classics, I am in the process of beginning to work with an organisation who tutor refugee students preparing for their English exams. I would love to use my creative experience to support WILS members as their Arts and Humanities Director.

My main focuses as Arts and Humanities Director would be to make events more neurodivergent friendly, create smaller and more comfortable social sessions for members to meet, and to advocate for support from the uni for members studying Arts and Humanities courses.
