Hi everyone! I'm Angela, a 2nd-year student majoring in International business, and it would be a great pleasure to be your newsletter editor for the coming academic year. The Women in Leadership Society has been such a supportive community that has helped me throughout the year, so I hope I can pass this on to current and future members.

I have always enjoyed designing and drawing, so this position would help me practice and develop my existing skills by using different platforms, and letting a wider audience view my work. Hence, if I get elected, I will ensure that your feedback is applied to the newsletter. Moreover, my efforts will be focused on making the newsletter as aesthetically interesting and engaging as possible. As a visual learner, I am serious when I say that I want to make a NO-SKIP newsletter because I believe that every piece of information can be of help to our viewers.

My primary design experience lies in merchandise, social media content, documents, and power points using either Canva, Photoshop, or Procreate. I co-designed the first WILS Inclusion Journal (2023), made merchandise two different times, designed Instagram posts and stories for the Indonesian Student Society in Manchester, and drafted logos for the Women in Leadership Inclusion Subcommittee. Besides those experiences, I have enjoyed drawing and designing as a hobby since I was in kindergarten, and my skills have only developed since then. Hi! My name is Julie Anne, and I would love to be your next Editor for the Women in Leadership Society! I am a second-year Business Management Student and have been a member of this amazing society for a year! The Women in Leadership Society has been a vital part of my university experience, and I have loved every moment of being a member. WILS has provided a supportive environment where you can be yourself, and it truly feels like a second home.

I am a CREATIVE individual with a natural inclination towards DETAIL-ORIENTATED work, possessing excellent ORGANISATION skills and the ability to ensure high-quality content within tight deadlines. Clear COMMUNICATION is essential in any role, and I am confident in my ability to convey ideas and solutions concisely and effectively. Additionally, I am committed to being OPEN to new perspectives, sharing my knowledge and assisting others in their personal and professional growth.

I have completed two marketing internships where I was responsible for promoting new products and increasing brand awareness. During my role, I achieved a remarkable 10% increase in email opening rates, demonstrating my ability to create compelling content that resonates with audiences. In addition to my professional experience, I am also a small business owner. In sixth form, I founded Metanoia Studios, a clothing business, and successfully juggled my studies while creating social media content and weekly newsletters using Canva and Procreate. This experience has taught me the importance of creativity, communication and effective time management, a skill that will prove invaluable in this role. Next year, I will be undertaking a Marketing Placement at Box, where I plan to increase connections with the Women in Leadership Society.

My goal is to create aesthetically pleasing and interactive newsletters that represent the voices of our committee and members while elevating the stories of women leaders. I plan to incorporate exciting features such as Industry Spotlights and University Lifestyle Recommendations to engage with our audience further. I believe this role presents an incredible opportunity to inspire others and make a meaningful difference in women's lives everywhere.
