As a former active member of Women in Leadership society, I am excited to apply for the role of Vice President for the upcoming academic year. As a first year student studying BSc in Economics and Finance, I believe that my skills and passion for leadership can contribute to the growth and success of the society.
If elected, I will ensure to work closely with the President to decide the direction of the society and motivate all committee members to achieve the set goals. As the second most important role, I will be responsible for monitoring the development of the society and managing it in a fair and kind way. Moreover, I will act as the main point of contact for every person and organization interacting with Women in Leadership society, inside and outside the university.
I will manage all paid sponsorships for the academic year of 2023/2024 by looking for new sponsorship opportunities, scheduling calls with sponsors, and approving sponsorship proposals. I believe that with my skills and experience, I can effectively execute all the responsibilities of the Vice President and contribute to the success of Women in Leadership society.

Hi everyone! My name is Shannen and I am nominating myself to be the Women in Leadership Society Vice President for the next academic year. I am a second-year Business Management student and I have been highly involved with WILS in the past year due to my sub-committee role for this year's Empower Conference. It was the UK's BIGGEST student-led conference in 2023 and it was an unforgettable experience! Moreover, I have been a member since 2021 and I am very passionate about this society. I've met many amazing women in this community and have enjoyed a lot of events that supported my development of skills including leadership. If I get elected as Vice President, I seek to be a RELIABLE and MOTIVATING point of contact who will dedicate my time to support all activities, in order to organise the most stimulating and educative events. I believe that all students have the ability to become great leaders irrespective of gender and background, so I aim to raise awareness of this and ensure WILS could empower every woman. I believe I fit this role because I am organised, friendly, have professional communication and teamwork skills, and I look forward to supporting everyone on the future committee. Being in Corporate and External Relations at the sub-committee gave me experience in BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS with company representatives and speakers from various industries. I have held meetings with them to coordinate for the conference and have practised good email management skills, thus, I will be able to identify the best sponsorship opportunities for WILS and organise meetings with sponsors effectively. I have also gained event and time management skills from my other experiences and am familiar with running events within the University of Leeds. I am excited to see the Women in Leadership Society grow further this year and I plan to create amazing experiences for all the students who will be a part of it. As a highly motivated and experienced individual, I am thrilled to apply for the position of Vice President for the Women in Leadership Society. I have a proven track record in event coordination, marketing, and project development, and I am committed to providing opportunities for professional development and growth for our members. As an active member of the Women in Leadership Society, I am thrilled about the prospect of being Vice President for the academic year of 2023/24. If I am elected, I will bring my key qualities to support the President and ensure the society moves in the right direction, achieving all our goals and objectives.

Firstly, I have excellent leadership skills and I am aware of the responsibility that comes with being the Vice President. I would help to ensure that the committee and I operate with full transparency, integrity, and accountability.

Secondly, I am committed to being the main point of contact, alongside the President, for everyone within the society and the organisations we partner with. I will organise and oversee all activities taken place within the university to guarantee they line up with our values and goals as a society.

Thirdly, as a chair of the committee meetings, I will foster a culture of inclusiveness and collaboration, making it certain that every voice will be heard. Furthermore, I have strong problem-solving skills, and I am devoted to resolving any issues around committee and society members.

Finally, I am highly organised and detail-orientated, making me the ideal candidate to manage all paid sponsorships and contacting the sponsors alongside the President, signing contracts, and managing the payment processes. Alongside the President, I will ensure that all sponsors are happy with WILS activities, scheduling events and promotions. Furthermore, I will explore new sponsorship opportunities, deciding whether they are valuable companies for WILS to be collaborating with, ensuring their values line up with our own. Moreover, I will help to schedule calls, prepare sponsorship brochures, and approve sponsorship proposals that other committee members have found.
