Peer Support Coordinator

Hi everyone, I’m Akna! As someone who has also been recently diagnosed with severe anxiety and coming from a conservative background I do understand and relate to the struggles we have to go through to break the stigma that is been associated with ‘mental health’ It is not always easy to open up and it definitely takes time. Each person has their unique way of dealing with such emotions. I want to learn more and educate others on this topic. Some little fun facts about me are that I am a big-time cat mommy and I love theatre (I am currently in the open theatre’s soc first-timers show) I greatly admire the values that the mind matters soc holds and I do hope to work together with the rest of the committee to ensure and support like-minded individuals whilst aiming to provide a safe environment.
