Hey everyone I’m Lewis, I’m a second year Economics and Finance student and with this I’m applying for the role as Treasurer. I’ve chosen this role as I want to help out the society and use my expertise in finance in order to support our society and its growth. Over the summer I’ll be completing my summer internship within the London Stock Exchange Group, with this internship I’ll have to deal with clients and take on high levels of responsibility with regards to transactions similarly to the tasks as a Treasurer. I believe my work within a corporate environment will support my ability to effectively manage cash inflows and outflows across the year. If I was elected as Treasurer my main priorities will be to push for a rise in our society budget providing supportive evidence of our growth and the needs to keep ticket prices as affordable as possible, with a larger budget we would be able to provide more events such as an expansion to our women’s karting events, further discounted races and trips across the year. As well as trying to increase our budget through the University I’ll look to seek sponsorship deals dependent on the overall size of our funding from the Uni, I’d make sure to keep sponsorship deals to a minimum amount to ensure no promotional spam is put into our motorsport chat. With my interest in finance and my love of motorsport I’ll be sure to dedicate my time in supporting the growth of our society and its accessibility!

Hi, I’m Emily, a second year Economics student, and I would love the opportunity to be the society’s Treasurer for the 2024/25 year. This past year in the society has been an exceptional year, allowing me to gain amazing experiences and skills that I believe would enable me to become a great Treasurer for the society.

As the Treasurer, I would aim to ensure:
- The financial stability, transparency, and growth of our society,
- Initiatives aimed at maximising the benefits for our members while responsibly managing the resources provided to us,
- The continued success of the society.

As a current economics student, the role of the Treasurer fits well with both my current studies and future career aspirations. It would offer an opportunity for me to apply my academic knowledge and skills in a practical setting, whilst gaining valuable experience in financial management, decision-making, and leadership.

In the role of the Treasurer, one must work closely with other committee members, handle money, and work with large data sheets. Through work experience in both accounting and finance, I have a variety of skills that will make me a good candidate for this role. I am extremely organised and communicate well with those around me, necessary when working with both the President and the Union to create a sustainable system that allows our society to be financially stable whilst increasing opportunities for all members.

If given the opportunity, I would look to maximise the information from previous years to make the members experiences more valuable (and at lower costs), through looking into initiatives aimed at maximising the benefits through the efficient management of the resources provided to us.

I would be honoured to represent the society in this role for the coming year, hoping to positively impact by mine and the society member’s university experience.

Hi, I'm Thomas, though better known by some members of the society, mainly Anand, as Band(it). I joined the society almost immediately in my first year and found such a welcoming place where I've made fantastic friends.
I had never gone karting before attending the Give It a Go, but I quickly fell in love. I earned my BUKC license and even competed in my first race earlier this year. I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to the society by serving as your treasurer.

As the treasurer, I will work with other members of the committee to not only balance our budget based on initial plans and previous years but also try to reserve some of our budget for impromptu events or unexpected costs.
As the treasurer, my primary objective is to minimize costs for our members who are interested in motorsports. Although it is an expensive hobby, our society has always made an effort to keep it accessible to everyone by subsidizing the costs, and I am extremely proud of this. I will strive to continue this tradition and ensure that our in-house competitions, such as the Tour de Yorkshire, are as affordable as possible. Even though these events may be less expensive than BUKC rounds, the numerous events we organize means that costs can quickly accumulate. I am familiar with this from personal experience.
Finally, I will assist the other committee members in seeking out and exploring avenues for additional/new sponsorship opportunities to further help balance the society's budget and keep costs low.
