Hi I’m Adam, I will be going into my third year of uni, and wanted to run for Secretary of the Motorsport society to make sure it remains the best society in leeds, even when we’ve graduated.

Over recent years, I have developed a passion for motorsports and in particular Formula 1. I’m often wondering why I didn’t get properly invested into it at an earlier age, especially since I was brought up watching old Top Gear and playing Forza on Xbox.

I like to think I’m well organised and appreciate attention to detail, almost as much as James May. Making me suited to the role of Secretary on the committee, completing important tasks whilst representing the society.

To conclude, I love that our society has a great sense of community, welcoming anyone who shares our interests and values, and therefore I’m grateful for the chance to run for Secretary.

As I approach my final year at University of Leeds, I would love to be considered for the role of secretary. I joined the society in October due to my love for Formula 1 and the rest was history. The society has become a huge part of my life at university and I would be honoured to return the favour to new and existing members of the society. Since joining, I have been to many watch-alongs, socials, watched TdYs, other karting and rally events that have been hosted by the society and my love for motorsports continues to grow everyday. The more I became involved with the society, the more I knew I wanted to be a part of what makes Leeds Motorsports so great, and this would be by joining the committee. I believe I would succeed as secretary because I will take the role seriously, I am organised, reliable and hard-working which is key when it comes to general administrative tasks which help the society to function as well as it does. My aims as secretary are to: organise talks to spread interest in motorsport; represent women in motorsports; encourage women to get more involved with motorsports; make sure alumni are involved with the society; help everyone to the best of my ability and to help the rest of the committee. I am going to try my hardest to carry on the great work that Elliott already begun. I feel fully prepared to become the Leeds Motorsports Secretary and can’t wait to hold on to the magical atmosphere that the committee have already created.

I think most of you know who I am, but to those of you who don't, my name is Kamran Davies, and I'm a second year Computer Science with High Performance Graphics and Games Engineering student (short title I know). For the past year I've been the Vice President of this society, the role which famously has no actual responsibilities (apart from shouting at a certain unnamed kit company!).

Following on from that, I now want to move on to a different and more involved role, of which I think secretary is perfect. Over the year I hope I've proved myself to be a helpful and effective member of the committee, and I hope to continue this into next year 😍!

If I'm elected, I'll aim to be an easy person to message and answer questions from our alumni, current members and new freshers, as well as keep track of everything the committee discusses in meetings. I'll also help manage our social media, which some of you will know I've already helped with in the past at Varsity!

I don't really know what to write here frankly. Everyone that you could vote for for this is great so go wild I guess.

Throughout the last 3 years I have enjoyed countless GP watch-a-longs, TdY events, BUKC races and other fantastic events put on. Motorsport Soc is by far the friendliest yet competitive community I’ve been lucky to be part of, and I would like to add to the way the society is ran next year.

I am running for Secretary and Events Coordinator. This is because I know my skills can help with the administrative running of the society and organizing one off events such as guest talks; however, I am also a huge fan of the e-TdY series and would like to see it continue and expand in the future. In either position I am looking forward to making a positive impact on the events offered by the society and make sure all members enjoy being part of this society as much as I have. A key aspect to this will be a mixture of putting my own ideas forward, such as an online sprint league for e-TdY, and listening to member requests and feedback regarding what kind of events you would like to have running.
