Your main role as treasurer will be to oversee and ensure that all financial affairs are taken care of efficiently and transparently. You will be required to:

- Keep a precise and up-to-date track of finances, being sensible with how funds are allocated and communicating the state of the account to the committee when decisions are being made about allocation of funds.

- Find legitimate pots of money – through the University’s student union for instance, as well as sources of external funding and sponsorship. You must be aware of where these pots of money are and the deadlines for applying for them – it will be your responsibility to ensure HIT claims the funding it is entitled to. Accordingly, you will also need to uphold good relationships with sponsors and continue to seek collaboration with new sponsors.

- Work with the secretary to find and contact external bodies (e.g. for funding, sponsorships, speakers or any other support).

As a core committee member, you will also help look after the welfare of all committee members. 

Excellent organisational skills and communication skills with other members of the team and external individuals are essential for this role. Ability to work towards, and meet deadlines is also a requirement. Having previous experience in a university society is desirable for this role.
