The main role of the secretary is to keep up to date with the admin work – you will be responsible for the following:
- The HIT email (reading and replying to emails).
- Taking meeting minutes and ensuring the action points are followed up; thus you must be aware of the roles of other committee members.
- Working with the President and Treasurer to find and contact external bodies (e.g. for funding, sponsorships, speakers or any other support).
As a core committee member, you will also help look after the welfare of all committee members.
Strong organisation and communication skills are essential for this role; good teamwork skills and initiative are also essential.
