The main roles of the president are overseeing the HIT society, liaising with all other committee members to ensure they are fulfilling their roles, and providing support to committee members as necessary. As a core committee member, you must look after the welfare of all committee members. The president is also required to maintain the direction and vision of HIT, with the help of the rest of the committee. Thus, you will be the person to initiate committee meetings, create meeting agendas and finalise action points. Activities and events for the year will be decided as a team and approved by the president.

Excellent time-management abilities, teamwork and communication skills with other members of the team and external individuals are essential for this role. You must be flexible and approachable. Having previous experience in a university society is desirable for this role.
