Hi everyone, we are Gaurav Midha (18 y/o) and Jessica Coetzee (21 y/o) first-year Dental Surgery and H&T students, respectively. Most of you will recognise Gaurav as he has been involved in Dentsoc as the current freshers rep, something which we both went for and now are converting that healthy rivalry into a great partnership to hopefully bring you next year's Sports Reps. Gaurav loves playing and watching pretty much any sport with football being his absolutely no1 choice (extra love to any other Man Utd fans). Jess on the other hand is a particularly eager netball player being awarded ‘Most Dedicated Member’ and ‘Most Improved Player’ of the Leeds University Medics and Dentists Netball Team as well as being lucky enough to have been elected the Dental Representative for next year's committee.
As you can see, we are enthusiastic about being active and playing sports outside of academia and would love the opportunity to get more students involved in the exciting sporting events Dentsoc holds throughout the year. Any recommendations will be taken on board as we look to collaborate with other university sports societies to bring new events like a tennis or rugby match. Whilst sports are competitive we want to ensure that everyone of all abilities can participate and feels welcome which is why we will host some more chilled sports socials where you can come along with friends and have fun whilst being active! . To further emphasise our interest in these positions we are also participating in the BDSA Sports Day this year and hope to see many of you there at the next one!

Hi, we are so excited to run for sports secretaries this year! As you all know, we have a tightly bonded friendship, a key pillar to collaboration and working hard together to obtain a successful sporting year for Dentsoc. We have a plethora of ideas in store and cannot wait to engage in a fun, active and inclusive year ahead. As sports secs, we would aim to include a broader range of sports and fun activities for all of you to engage in, get to know more people and even take on a more competitive outlook if that’s what you’re looking for! We would like to assemble a year in which everybody feels included and can find an activity to embrace themselves. With experience in County Netball, swimming, cross country and Dance, we believe we have an appropriate set of skills to create and manifest a vision. We believe that having a pair of girl best friends as your next social secs will be a strength which will benefit everyone.
