Hiya I’m Izzy and I’d love to be one of your year 3 co-leads.

Throughout my degree I’ve used PALS resources and found the revision sessions particularly useful. I believe peer-teaching is incredibly valuable at medical school as it helps inspire confidence in the teacher and the learner, both on and off the wards. I have had experience as a teaching assistant in schools and have found it rewarding and beneficial to my own learning.

As a year 3 co-lead, I will organise revision sessions throughout the year and listen to feedback to offer specifically requested teaching. During the stressful period leading up to exams, I will organise mock OSCEs with stations to help medical students approach any particular areas they find difficult. This personalised approach will ensure that they are well prepared for the real thing.

I've attended all of the year 3 PALS sessions this year and have found them incredibly helpful – not just for consolidating knowledge, but also for building confidence during clinical placements. The PALS teaching sessions have been invaluable to me throughout med school and I would love the opportunity to give back and support others in the same way.

I'm passionate about peer-led teaching and have previously volunteered as an OSCE patient and examiner for other societies. Working with various societies has helped me develop strong skills in organisation, teamwork, and clear communication – all of which are essential for coordinating successful teaching events.

As a co-lead, I would organise high-yield, specific revision sessions and mock OSCEs, taking on board any feedback to tailor teaching to what students find most useful.

I know how valuable PALS has been to me, and I'd be honoured to continue that support for the next cohort!

Hi I’m Linda, a 4th year medic with a strong interest in peer teaching and medical education. I’m running for PALS3 Co-Lead because I’ve seen first-hand how valuable this scheme is — both as a Year 3 student attending sessions and this year as a guest teacher, when I had the opportunity to deliver a PALS3 session on ECG OSCE interpretation & setup, as well as examining year 3 MOSCEs.
That teaching experience made me realise how rewarding it is to give back to a scheme that helped me so much. I’d love the chance to help shape the programme and ensure we continue providing engaging, high-quality and inclusive teaching for Year 3 students.
I’m looking forward to potentially collaborate closely with the PALS team and to make sure sessions run smoothly and that revision materials are easy to access and useful. I’d be excited to bring my enthusiasm and experience to the role — please vote for me!

Having found the PALS3 sessions incredibly useful throughout this year, I would also love to be part of PALS as one of the PALS3 Co-Leads next year.

I feel that my experience as the Education Lead of BrainLeeds this year has strongly helped, where I coordinated the BrainLeeds Academy series this year, a national teaching series on MedAll that was focused on neuroanatomy, core neurological conditions as well as subspecialties in the clinical neurosciences. This has involved scheduling sessions, liaising with guest speakers and ensuring the smooth flow of the series throughout the academic year.

As one of the Media Directors of British Tamil Medical Association (BTMA) and the Social Media Rep of Leeds Medics Oncology Society this year, I have been responsible for preparing marketing material for events, such as the BTMA National Conference 2025, as well as ensuring important communication received from the public through the societies' social media are communicated to core committee.

As Men’s Captain and Secretary of LMDBC during 2nd year, I managed club admin, organised practice sessions and tournament teams, and liaised with other medical school societies. I handled official communications via WhatsApp and created clear Google Forms to coordinate tournaments and ensure smooth communication.

I believe that these experiences will help me to be suitable for the role of a PALS3 Co-Lead. Thank you for taking the time to read my statement.

Hi my name is Lauren and I am writing for your consideration as a PALS 3 co-lead for the next academic year.

I think it is great to have a society in which older year groups can pass on their knowledge and guidance to younger years and tailor teaching to include what they may wish they had known earlier. I have learnt many tips and tricks and broadened my knowledge and understanding from interacting with PALS teaching throughout my three years of medical school. I have found PALS 3 particularly helpful this year and have improved my skills and grown in confidence for the OSCEs.

Having been a part of PALS as both a learner and teacher I have become very passionate about the society and peer-teaching, and would love to continue to be a part of it! I have organised, coordinated, created and delivered several teaching sessions and have gained an invaluable insight into planning, explaining challenging concepts from different angles and adapting my communication to improve the learner’s understanding. I have worked in several teams both outside and within medical school such as sports teams and group projects in which I have developed my ability to work well in a team.

If I were to have the opportunity, I would look to cover more of the OSCE examinations in PALS 3 with early exposure to the examinations that are expected to be learnt independently. This would enable more time for consolidation and practice on placement. I have found the teaching series on the core conditions this year to be helpful summaries and would like to continue this to include a greater range of core conditions and also pharmacology. Feedback would be regularly collected and reviewed to allow us to understand what is most beneficial or needs to be improved in order to tailor the teaching for the maximum benefit.

Hi! My name is Lowri, and I’m currently in my third year of Medicine. I’m really passionate about teaching and already enjoy delivering sessions for first- and second-year students on the wards, as well as working with my peers.

I’d love the opportunity to be part of PALS to support peer-led learning sessions and helping in delivering engaging, effective teaching sessions. Clinical years can be challenging, so it’s more important than ever that we support each other to enhance our learning and make the most of our experiences.

Hi everyone! I’m Paria, a third year medical student. Over the past year I’ve really enjoyed being one of the PALS 1 Co-Leads, helping organise and deliver sessions for first year students, and I would love the opportunity to continue contributing to the PALS team as a Year 3 Co-Lead.

I’m passionate about peer teaching and supporting other students through what can be a challenging transition to clinical placements, especially since there has not been fixed medical school teaching. So I aim to facilitate and help run teaching sessions focusing on OSCE practice and MLA conditions revision sessions (with a focus on high yield topics and special senses) alongside the other Co-Leads. Having already co-led sessions online, I’ve developed strong organisational skills and understand the importance of creating sessions that are clear, engaging, and clinically relevant. I have also found the PALS 3 sessions I attended really useful so I would love to be part of the team to continue this for the next cohort of students.
