Hi I'm Annie, an enthusiastic first year English Lit student and have been fortunate to have been part of the English netball team since October 2024. I have made new friends, developed team relationships and I would like others to experience the positive memories I have made, including netball matches, socials and charity events. Hello, I’m Liv, a first-year English Literature and Language student. I’m running for Sports Secretary because being part of English Society Netball has been an amazing part of my first-year university experience, and I want to ensure others have the same experience.
I’ve been actively involved, attending weekly matches. Netball has been a big part of my life, and I’m passionate about helping our society thrive both on and off the court.
I bring strong organisational skills and leadership experience, having served as a sports captain at secondary school, where I managed events like netball tournaments and sports days. This taught me how to coordinate activities, foster teamwork, and create an inclusive environment – all vital for a sports society.
If elected, I aim to:
Continue weekly training sessions focused on drills to improve skills and team performance.


Recruit new members at the Freshers' Fair, on social media, and through GIAG sessions, promoting inclusivity for players of all levels.


Host regular socials, including post-match meetups, monthly nights out, and sober socials like board game nights or cinema trips.


Maintain traditions like the Halloween social and introduce new events such as spin classes at The Edge and biannual team meals.


Organise a charity event, like a netball game or park run, to give back to the community and engage more people.

Netball is more than just a game – it’s about building friendships and a sense of community. Through this society, I’ve met close friends, and I want to ensure others have the same opportunity. My priority is to preserve the friendly, welcoming atmosphere while helping the society grow and thrive.
