Hi there! My name is Dorothy (she/her) and I’m a first year Classical Civilisation and English student! I am autistic and ADHD, and would love to be the society’s social media secretary! My favourite pieces of literature include ‘The Secret History’, ‘The Great Gatsby’ and Sophocles’ Three Theban Plays.

I have had a lot of experience managing social media accounts, mainly due to my bookstagram account, which I started almost five years ago. Since then, I’ve amassed almost 3 thousand followers and have worked with publishers such as Bloomsbury. I have also oversaw the international theatre magazine Curtain Call’s facebook. This has given me lots of experience in communication, as well as graphic design platforms like Canva. I also did A-Level Art (A*), so I have a keen eye for detail and aesthetics. If you vote me for this position, I will do everything I can to make sure that the social media will not only be friendly and active, but very aesthetic too!

I also will make sure that any event information or social information is clear and relevant, in order to make the society as welcoming as possible.

Hi! My name is February Hashimshony and I am a first year English and Comparative Literature joint honours student! I've really enjoyed attending English society events this year, it's been one of my favourite parts of settling into university and I'd love to contribute more to it next year in order to support new students in the same way that the society supported me!

I'm passionate about creativity and media design, from editing short films for friends to creating posters for local fundraisers. I've managed the Leeds Transport society's social media this year, gaining experience in crafting personalised content and using tools like Photoshop and Adobe. Additionally, I run a Tik Tok editing account with over 7,000 followers and 1.5 million likes!

As Social Media and Marketing Secretary, I'll focus on supporting the heart of English Society: It's members! I'll ensure all events are clearly promoted with accessible details to boost engagement and help every student feel welcome. From fun interactive posts to advertising exciting opportunities, expect regular, useful updates to keep everyone informed and involved!
