As a proactive medical student who has attended conferences such as Yorkshire Cardiothoracic Surgery Engagement Day, I look forward to gain experience and delve further into General Surgery, a specialty I was exposed to in my first clinical placement of medical school.

I believe I am a suitable candidate for this role due to my excellent communication skills, high level time-management and prioritisation abilities. As Secretary and Men’s Captain of LMDBC this year, my roles involved handling any admin related to the club, managing the team playing in tournaments and organising sessions for the club to practice. This has helped me to build on my communication skills through regular meetings with the committee and members of other medical school badminton societies. I have been responsible for sending out official communication to advertise and promote events in the society through WhatsApp, notifying members and non-members of any event taking place. Moreover, I have set up clear and concise Google Forms for the tournaments that have taken place this year, ensuring effective communication between participating members and committee members who have organised the tournament. I have also recently been selected as one of the Media Directors of British Tamil Medical Association (BTMA) for 2024-2025.
