Hi! I'm Tanushri, though you can call me T, and I would LOVE to be the student voice for Year 1 Medics. Entering the whirlwind of medical school can be overwhelming, and I am sure that there will be a lot of adjustments and ‘getting used to’ in the first year. That's why I'm committed to smoothing out this transition, through listening and addressing any of the students’ concerns on areas such as: academic support, work-life balance, social connections, and independent living. My goal is to ensure everyone can make the most of their first year at Leeds.

I have great communication skills and I can think creatively of ways we can reach every student in Year 1 and ensure that we address the wide range of issues. My approachable nature means I'm always ready for one-on-one conversations about individual concerns. Ultimately, I'm passionate about making our first year an incredible experience for all of us, and I’m excited about the opportunity to be involved in forming that bridge between students and the MSRC!

Hi everyone! I’m Beiwen, and I’m really excited for the chance to represent you. I’ve always been passionate about research and love organizing things. As a former prefect and leader of a 500+ member non-profit, I’ve developed solid communication and time management skills, and I’m here to use those to support YOU.
I’m all in for bringing fresh ideas and supporting any initiatives that YOU want to propose to the MSRC and the Year 1 team, all aimed at making our med school experience the best it can be. My name is Laura and as well as being really excited to start medical school at Leeds, I am also looking forward to giving a range of new societies a go like swimming, wilderness medicine and many others. I am interested in being a year 1 representative this year as I am passionate about collaborating with everyone and using this to be able to improve the course for both us and future classes.

Hi guys my name is Jamie and I’m hoping to be part of this year’s 1st Year MSRC team! After a week of snoozing through induction lectures I’m sure you’re all ready to get the absolute most out of 1st year. As a candidate I’m really eager that we are able to express our needs as effectively as possible and you guys can vent any improvements/complaints to the team so that change can be enacted. Hi, I’m Faith and I’m very excited to be given the opportunity to represent you! My specific interests in medicine include widening participation, obstetrics and gynaecology, and paediatrics. Outside of medicine, I enjoy baking, gaming, travelling and planning trips out, from themed cocktail nights to countryside walks. I’m always up for a chat whether this is face-to-face or over text so please don’t hesitate to tell me any of your ideas about how to improve your experience as a medical student.
I’m passionate about representing others and would use my experience from my previous degree and leadership roles to help you transition into what may be some of the most difficult but rewarding years of your academic lives. My main goal as a student representative would be to make sure that everyone feels heard and happy, so we can make the most out of our time at medical school and become the best doctors possible.
