Hey! I’m Thea and I’m currently in my second year of Medcine!

Leeds Ballet has been a huge part of my uni experience. I think it’s fair to say that a lot of the time I prioritise it over my degree (which definitely has its pros and cons), but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Through this society I have met some amazing people who have really shaped my uni life, and I’ve made some really incredible memories.

This year I had the pleasure of being Show Captain! This role meant so much to me as performing was always my favourite part of dance, but I didn’t ever think I would be capable of putting on a show. It wasn’t always easy but, with lots of help from our amazing committee, the shows were a huge success! This was the first year we decided to do two shows instead of one, so I wasn’t completely sure how many people were going to come and watch, but we sold over 200 tickets and filled Pyramid Theatre each night!!

I would absolute love to be your secretary next year! If chosen these would be my main aims for the year:
- Create monthly event calendars for Instagram and Facebook to keep everyone up-to-date on all our amazing events!
- Expand our social media reach on all platforms to encourage more members to join
- Have regular question boxes on our Instagram and Facebook stories for anyone to ask questions - these will be in a story highlight too
- Continue our weekly email!
- Bring back the ballet mascot! Melly (@mellyonthemap on instagram if you’re curious) was our previous ballet mascot and she was FAB but she is almost reaching retirement age bless her. I would love to get a new mascot and document all of their many adventures on instagram!

I feel my experience across the different parts of this society (show teams, competition teams, performing in shows, classes, socials, and being on committee) has helped me develop the skills needed for this role! I would really appreciate your vote for me as your 24/25 secretary!
