Hey! My name’s Amelia and I am running to be next year’s Ballet society treasurer! The ballet society has played a huge role in my university experience and the responsibility of being merch and costume sec has made me want to continue to contribute towards this amazing society. I believe I will be a valuable member of next year's committee and have a lot I would like to contribute.

One of the best parts of this society is how budget-friendly it is. We keep membership costs low, offer fantastic value classes, provide costumes to all members, sell affordable leotards, tights, and shoes in our swap shop. As treasurer, I’m committed to maintain this affordability and finding ways to reduce costs even more! Additionally, charity events are a vital part of our society's community. As treasurer, I'm eager to collaborate with the welfare officer to raise funds for our chosen charity. Additionally, I recognise the importance of fostering a sense of friendship through both sober and non-sober socials. I'll ensure a fair allocation of funds for these events, balancing our budget while maximising the enjoyment for all members!

In my role as the former merch and costume sec, I collaborated closely with our current treasurer, Caroline, and Show sec, Thea, to ensure the fair distribution of the show costume budget. This experience has equipped me with valuable insights that I believe will be crucial in ensuring a seamless experience for next year's show and costume sec, especially during the notoriously hectic show week! Additionally, my extensive experience with requesting expenses on Engage and posting merch products further strengthens my ability to contribute effectively towards the society.

I am a second year Biomedical Sciences student and as a woman in STEM I have experience with excel spreadsheets and tedious data input. I also have previous experience with administration and data entry, working for the NHS. This has taught me the importance of organisation which would directly translate to this role.

It would mean so much to remain on the committee next year, and I am fully committed to achieving my goals. Being part of Ballet Society has been an amazing experience, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I wish all the other candidates the best of luck, and I'm excited to watch the growth of LUU Ballet Society!

Hii everyone! I’m Sophie and I would love to be the next Ballet Treasurer! I’m currently studying (not much) on my year abroad in France but I’m coming back for my final year in Accounting and Finance.

I joined Ballet Society in my second year and honestly regret not joining sooner as it has created some of my favourite memories, especially the tour last year and the Dance Ball.

I think I would be a great choice because studying accounting has made me confident in handling finances and reports. This has definitely given me the experience I need to work with budgets and expenses. This may be sad but I do love maths and a good spreadsheet and I pretty much dream about financial statements at this point. I promise to spend more time with Ballet finances than my actual degree! I am also really organised and would make sure that everything is planned with plenty of time so we can experience an amazing year together. I believe I have the communication skills necessary to work successfully with the other committee members, especially after an insane amount of group work in France. I feel this is important in this role given I would be supporting various different financial activities, from supporting the competition captains to helping the Welfare Officer in any fundraising activities.

In this role I would work with other members of the committee to ensure costs are as low as possible, especially maintaining the subsidisation of classes so our classes are accessible to as many people as possible. It is really important to me that opportunities stay affordable for everyone. I promise I will apply for our grants well in advance and support fundraising to ensure we get the best budget possible!

Being part of Ballet has really made my university experience and I would love to make sure that others can feel the exact same. I would also always be a friendly face that anyone can come to for any support both in ballet and around campus!

As much fun as I’ve had on my year abroad, I am so excited to get back to Leeds and the Ballet family, I’ve been having MAJOR fomo this year. I also promise not to make my year abroad my personality (hopefully). I would love the opportunity to become more involved with Ballet in my final year and continue Caroline’s amazing work :)
