I'm Clara, and I'm currently in my first year of Biomedicine. I would absolutely adore being your show captain.

Taking part in the LUU and ballet showcase has been one of the highlights of my first year at uni; as someone who has wanted to start ballet for years joining the society has been one of the best decisions I have made it’s such a lovely community filled with wonderful people and I would love to be more involved

Despite being a fresher, I already have 1/2 a year of experience as part of the BSL society committee, giving me experience in event planning, funding applications and writing lots and lots of emails. I have also been working and volunteering at 2 different theatre groups for the last 6 years so have an insight into all that goes on behind the scenes.

My aim for next year is to organise another FAB ballet showcase giving everybody the opportunity to perform in their class groups, show/ comp teams and independent groups and liaise with the costume sec to make sure everyone is in a snazzy costume that THEY like and feel confident in. I would also like to provide as many performing opportunities throughout the year for the show teams and anyone interested these could include visiting retirement homes, schools etc.

Hi! I’m Beth, currently a silly little fresher studying maths and music and I would love to be your show captain next year! I was a bit scared at the start to join a society, but ballet has welcomed me with open arms and has such a fun, friendly atmosphere that I really want to keep up if I get the chance. I have competed and performed for 15 years now and think it is the best part of ballet, so as show rep, I would love to get everyone excited and to come together to put on a great show.
Over the last year, I have been involved in the intermediate competition team as well as being seen regularly at socials, but I also LOVE organisation and putting on a fun event for everyone. If elected, I would look forward to working with the costume and merch sec, so we all look stunning in the show, and liaising with teachers and the rest of the committee to create something we are all proud of and spread the ballet joy to the LUU show.
Ballet has been the best part of my first year so I would absolutely love to get more involved next year and spread the ballet love!

Hi my name is Fran and I would love to be your show captain for next year!

As a fresher to ballet this year, I had no idea what to expect but have honestly loved my time in this amazing society and have made so many great memories. These include all of the great socials this year especially having to dress up as ken with an F on my forehead and going on TOUR in yorkshire. However the best highlight has to be the ballet show where I had the pleasure of dancing in Matilda and Harry Potter and would want to increase my involvement in this next year. Also seeing the two incredible show teams perform this year has made me eager to join in myself and carrying on creating great dances.

I would love to be part of the committee as they have done a great job of welcoming everyone into the society and would love to do this myself next year and be someone that any one in the society could rely on and go to for help.

I think I would be a good match for the role of show captain as I have good communication to talk to the teachers and the rest of the committee and love organising big events. I am also part of other dance societies such as Ballroom and Latin and would love to get them involved next year.

Finally whether I am in the committee or not, I can't wait to continue being part of the ballet community and creating even more great memories! :)
