Hi, I’m Mia, and I'm running for Social Sec for the 2026/27 Touch Rugby Season 😊 !!!
Breaking news: I LOVE a Wednesday so social sec just feels right, even a broken hand couldn’t keep me from a social. Built different tbh. If I get social sec, expect the chaos (the good kind) and unreal socials.
And of course, Isla is my best friend: Me 🤝Isla = besties running socials aka a GUARANTEED good time. Match made in heaven, vote accordingly x
Isla and I have already run 2 successful socials together. 2 socials in and already iconic, Charlie and Issac respectfully, good luck xx. We know what were doing.

My Aims as Social Sec
- Bigger, better joint socials (rugby league collabs pending 👀)
- Schedules + outfit inspo early — ZERO excuses… costumes will EAT
- More house parties = cheaper socials
- Create a fun, inclusive atmosphere
- Keep communication clear and consistent
- 2 Touch Balls + Xmas dins xx
- Alumni week/weekend
- Touch Tour — a whole week of Wednesdays, yes PLZ
- Collab with Leeds Beckett Touch (game + social + varsity ??)
- Touch Otley Run + bigger Fridge to Fridge
- More events beyond Wednesdays — pub trips, Ninja Warrior, and a secret social😉,
Isla and I are living separately next year, which means more social locations and more chaos. We spend most of our time together, so might as well make it productive and plan elite socials.
Work hard, play hard and I do both.

I’m Isla and I’m running for Social Sec for the 2026/27 Touch Season!

I want to be social sec because, in case you couldn’t tell I love Wednesdays! (100% chief attendance). I am committed to every social, even falling over and getting stitches because of chief. I promise if I get social sec I won’t take it too far and end up in A&E again x
Mia is my best friend, two best friends as social secs mean more effort put into socials and even more fun for everyone. We’ve ran three successfully together so we know we can put on a good night out (we definitely won the vote on the last social btw)

My aims as social sec include:
• Building up a social media presence on TikTok/Instagram to attract more members
• More joint socials with other societies! My housemates are also social secs so we can create even bigger and better socials
• Create a schedule for themes weeks in advance so that you aren’t rushing for an outfit the night before
• More house party socials! Cheaper than pubs and better to pre!
• More organisation over socials and challenges e.g., pub golf, challenges
• Do a dedicated Touch Otley Run on a Saturday
• Access more chief codes for the society
• Listen to feedback of what you want from socials e.g., what themes do you want, which challenges did you prefer
• Two Touch Balls a year! – Christmas and End of Year
• Start socials later – more time for us to get ready between Wednesday training and the social
• Bring a friend socials – encourage more people to join touch so we can have even bigger turn outs
• Secret social to another city!
• Make socials more welcoming to newcomers – clearer meeting points, weekly social posts on social media, clearer schedules
• Collaborate with the future president on a Touch Tour

I’m clearly very dedicated to a night out, and if I were social sec I’d be 100% dedicated to the role.
