Hi, my name is Georgina and I’m running for LOGsoc President for the upcoming year. I have loved being an active member of this society throughout medical school and I’d really like the opportunity to contribute to its continued success.

I believe my organisation, reliability and passion for obstetrics and gynaecology make me an ideal candidate for this role. As I return from my intercalation in Women’s Health, where I studied assisted conception, perinatal mental health, global maternal health and preterm labour prevention, I am eager to bring my knowledge and enthusiasm to this position.

As LOGsoc’s publicity secretary last year, I gained insight into the inner workings of our society, which has equipped me with the skills and determination to excel in this role. My current position as newsletter rep for KCL obstetrics and gynaecology society has provided me with firsthand experience of how other O&G societies are run and of planning a collaborative London Universities conference. My previous leadership roles, including as Flagship Event Lead for Restart a Heart, where we successfully trained 340 people in CPR, demonstrate my ability to organise and execute large-scale initiatives effectively.

I am committed to building upon the achievements of our society, including the continuation of our highly attended 4th year teaching sessions and mock OSCEs. Furthermore, I am dedicated to securing engaging speakers for our annual conference. I’d love to hold practical skills sessions aiming to inspiring younger years about O&G and reintroduce talks on elective experiences in this speciality.

I would be honoured to take the lead as LOGsoc President for 2024/2025 and I look forward to working with the new committee. Thank you for considering me for this role.
