Hello gents, having just nearly top scored for the threes whilst playing for the twos, I would like to put to you my application for fixture sec. Although the socials are a big part of our club, it is a cricket club after all, so I think getting as much cricket as possible for as many people as possible is hugely important. The main part of the role is organising the BUCS fixtures and winter nets. I can dedicate the time to doing this and will try to find times for winter nets with the aim of getting as much availability as possible (I don't have a diss so basically have nothing to do). At the same time, the dev squad plays a huge role in our club and getting as much cricket as possible for the squad is highly important to me. MoT WaW, Pharrell Williams

Saving you the pre-amble, I absolutely love this club, and want it to be the best than it can be, on all fronts.


During my placement this year, i’ve developed a lot of transferable skills for this role. Managing suppliers and clients through emails, phone calls and in-person meetings has given me a good understanding of how to maintain positive working relationships, as well as understanding how things work outside of the uni bubble. I have a strong appreciation for the importance of documentation, and plan to make an extensive resource to aide future holders of this position.


I’ve played in various BUCS fixtures over the last few years, as well as attending main, performance and (occasionally) dev squad net sessions. This has given me an excellent understanding of the value they offer, and a small insight into how they need to be organised. I’m also acutely aware of the value that sessions like Trib3 bring.


Living with Swanston next year will give me an strong source of ideas for how to plan the dev squad season and fixtures; I plan on building on the fantastic work that Dawson (shame) and Kingy have done over the last few years. I plan to create a google form as soon as the election results are announced (if successful) for feedback of any slight hiccups or wishes from this year to take into the next, whilst they are fresh in everyone’s minds. I believe this will help ease the transition whilst taking over from Lewis.


Above all, I hope to do the role justice and give you all a great year of cricket.
