If Carlsberg did Uni societies, it’d be LUUMCC. Without a doubt, the cricket club has been the major highlight of my first year at Leeds and this is down to the unwavering commitment and support of the committee and the members, that get behind everything that the club enjoys. Having attended all charity events this year, including a 2am-3am run during the 24 hour run and losing copious amounts of money betting on Heaver to win a pint race at the charity social? (the odds were amazing but don’t back a penguin to win a horse race) I believe I’d be a good candidate for sorting charity events and bringing in new ideas to raise ample money for charities which are very close to my heart and the clubs. Contrary to popular belief amongst the society, I’m actually not an idiot. I have very good time management and people skills and I know these will really help me in securing sponsorship for all the clubs endeavours. If you’ve made it this far, impressive as my chat is subpar at best, but if you’ve skipped to the end, here’s a good round up: I LOVE charity, I believe I’d be a great fit for sorting charity events and sorting out the best possible sponsorship for this great club.
