Hello, I'm Daniel and I am nominating myself to be your academic events coordinator for 2025/26. I am currently a 1st year student studying theoretical physics and am well connected with our accrediting body the Institute of Physics being an student member, as well as being nominated a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society.

I am excited to explore the possible opportunities in being able to provide academic and industry relevant skills and connections with future events. Organising activities that complement the social activities in the society in order to create a well-rounded experience for both new and existing members is very important to me, allowing for a fulfilling academic and social experience.

One particular big trip I am extremely interested in potentially doing is setting up a team for next years PLANCKS physics competition in February 2026. I attended this competition previously this year, and was provided with free accommodation and meals complimentary of the IOP. With a few teammates from other universities, we placed 7th out of approximately 40 teams, finding it an intensely enriching weekend with lots of networking opportunities.

Apart from role-specific duties, I am an extremely organised (I am currently writing this in eddy b a day before nominations end, take that as you will) individual that would love to work with a committee of other like minded people in order to create a supportive, exciting and friendly environment in PhySoc.
