The Secretary plays a vital role in supporting the President and ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the FemSoc committee. This role offers a valuable opportunity to make a direct impact on the direction and organisation of the society.
The Secretary is responsible for maintaining strong internal communication within the committee, helping to delegate tasks, and ensuring everything runs efficiently. They also act as a key point of contact by managing the FemSoc email account and liaising closely with LUU and other societies to seek out opportunities for collaboration both within and beyond the University.
Key responsibilities include organising and booking rooms for events and socials, producing agendas for meetings, and taking accurate minutes to maintain a clear written record of all discussions and decisions. The Secretary must also maintain up-to-date membership records, including names and membership categories, and ensure that only eligible members (Full and Ex-Officio) are permitted to vote in society elections.
In addition, the role involves maintaining an up-to-date copy of the society’s constitution, ensuring all society documentation is properly organised and archived, and supporting the overall administrative structure of FemSoc.
