As Welfare Officer, you are the first point of contact for members who may have any concerns, need support, or simply want someone to talk to. Full training will be provided, but at the heart of this role is a kind, approachable, and sensible individual who is committed to supporting others.

You play a key role in ensuring that all members of FemSoc feel safe, supported, and included, helping to maintain FemSoc as a welcoming and safe space. You will also be a visible and friendly presence at events, helping members feel comfortable and looked after.

A key responsibility of the role is communicating any welfare-related issues or concerns to LUU, particularly if something occurs at a FemSoc event that needs to be raised formally. You are responsible for helping to uphold the society’s welfare standards and ensuring appropriate support is in place when needed.

In addition, the Welfare Officer is encouraged to develop ideas for events and activities that promote well-being within the society, helping to build a positive and supportive community atmosphere where members feel comfortable and connected.
