Happy Easter Sunday to all my LAX LADIES - finally a day of rest 🐣 🐰 🥚 😴 💤

My name is Jocelyn Cotterill (Jos) and I’m applying for the role of 2s TEAM CAPTAIN ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
While i tried to live out the dream of being a social sec, turns out I couldn’t catch enough fish to survive in the freshers revenge social sea. But Captain? that hat 🧑‍✈️ was definitely more my style….

As a proud member of the 2s, I’ve genuinely loved every second with this green dream team.

From mysterious bruises (Sheffield Hallam blessed 🙏🏼me with a black eye) [pic inserted below], to match day mishaps (Izzy and Niamh drove to Newcastle under-Lyme instead of Newcastle upon Tyne🗺️👏🏼), this team has brought me so many memories and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Gracie has truly paved the way with grace🤙🏼And now I’d LOVE to follow in her footsteps - with a fabulous co-captain by my side🫡

So why vote me for captain⁉️
* I’m now a coaching scholar within the University coaching program - so my lax knowledge will be tiptop 📚(just you wait for those drills 🤤)
* I’m that 04 fresh 😬👵 but with age comes wisdom…+ experience 😉 i fear I took granny social a bit too seriously
* I want us to bleed green, ball hard, and actually aim for the goal (I passed the ball to a Newcastle player mid match)
* My commitment is there. I show dedication @ training and matches—even if that means cheering from the sideline in the 🌧️ when the doctor says no.
* I know that organisation and communication are key 🔐 in this role, and I’m ready to bring energy, structure, and support to every week.
* I know how amazing lax has been for me and want training to continue to be the best sport, not only for us but also for our new fresh. And I believe I can make that happen!

I cannot wait to carry on this fun next year

I truly believe this team has even more to give – we’ve worked hard but next year we’re getting even more balls 🥍 in the goal, no question. I care about every player, every pass, and every post-match pint 🍺 So let’s work hard, play harder, and make the 2s THE team to be on and lax the BEST sport social ever!

MORNING LAX GIRLIESSS! I’m Josie, and I’m running for 2’s CAPTAIN. I sit here writing this with 4 uncompleted (unstarted) assignments 🗒️ as I’m definitely not at uni for the degree- I’m here to play lax 🥍 , bleed green 💚💚💚💚at every opportunity and get smothered in baked beans 🫘 . I’m sure the seconds love to see me more than turn it in does at one minute before the submission deadline but I promise, I won’t drop the ball on this one☝️.
 
💪Reasons why I should get your vote 2’s
💚I’m a committed member of the team- I went to preseason (yes, I willingly ran 🏃‍♀️ before the season had started)
💚I love the team more than I love the pineapple and raspberry old mout cider 🍺 at Boddington (I’m actually undecided about this but it’s a close call)
💚I have an almost perfect Monday night training attendance (even though it interrupts my Monday evening nap time 😴 and Bobby’s preparation🙄)
💚I can hack mischief until lights on 😈 (shows my endurance and loyalty)
💚I have a nasty RBF 😒(can be used on the fresh if they don’t move the goals)
💚I have an unhealthy obsession with my owala 💦 so will encourage drink breaks (hydration is key)
💚Successfully got a black eye 👁️ from a match and went out that night (shows I’m invincible 💪 )
💚If we ever learn how to do a pick (I’ve got a good feeling about this year), we’re gonna need to know how to defend them so would be helpful to have a defence focused captain (its me… I play defence) alongside my co !!
💚I played lax all through senior school (you’d think i would have had enough but the drills are ingrained in my memory now)
💚I will check social attendance after our wednesday matches and lead the way to rollover (im a rollover virgin but I promise to change that)
 

⭐️My lax claim to fame is that I’ve stayed at the president’s house. !!!!!!Rosie I’ll buy you a drink if I get voted!!!!!! Okay I may be clout chasing and bribing my way onto the committee but you would too if you stayed at THE president’s house⭐️

💡Some of my ideas for next year include
💚More socials for the second team to support everyone and bond us
(will make us almost tighter than some of those match shirts)
💚Pre-game pump up rituals 🤩 (those early Wednesday mornings require just a bit of enthusiasm)
💚Team playlist for coach journeys and when we are not in DJ Kate’s presence 🎵(bangers only)
💚More footage from match days 📸 (we deserve a highlight reel regardless of the result)
💚Encouraging more of us to get involved in an optional… but strongly encouraged run club 🏃‍♀️(I can hear everyone groaning already) but there’s always room to improve our fitness and it will make that sweet treat after taste even better 😋

I’ve had the best time this year being a silly little fresh on the silly little seconds and would love the opportunity to give back to the club. And special thanks to Gracie for coaching us this year and dealing with 173849291849 matches rescheduled like a qween🫶
