Hey everyone sorry for the late application buttt….
I’m Emily and I am running for
💚🥍CHARITY, SOCIAL MEDIA and ALUMNI🥍 💚

I am a third-year biomedical sciences student 🧬 at Leeds proud to be part of the 🎉❤️BEGINNERS AND DEVELOPMENT TEAM❤️🎉somehow doing an integrated master’s next year even though my POPWORLD 💥🌎attendance has been higher than my lectures 👀This means I will have plenty of extra time on my hands to get involved with organising and supporting some amazing LAX charity and alumni events 🪩❤️‍🔥

Here’s what I’d love to bring to the role:
Charity events - Highly motivated to continue Sophie and Jacks legacy by organising fun charity events such as the Lacrosse Ball and Charity raffle as well as our run for breast cancer 🎀🍒 and half/full marathon 🏃🏼‍♀️💨 Raising awareness and money for causes that matter to our club while having fun is really the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS ( Hannah Montana style 🌍🎙️)
Having had some experience in fundraising in the past by dedicating a lot of time to raise 10,000€ and cycling 500km 🚴🏼‍♀️ for Mekong Plus a charity working to help communities in Vietnam and Cambodia makes me ideal for this role 😝

Using our social media accounts to help get a greater reach of people to spread awareness for our chosen charities as well as spread the joy of LAX 🥍💓 Showcasing how fun and inclusive our society is to recruit new members and keep our alumni up to date on the progress of the club by sharing match highlights and cheer our BUCS teams to victory 🏆🎉

Our alumni have played a vital part to help this society become what it is today and I would love to organise charity events which can bring our former members back together 💚🌟

I’m really excited to apply for this position of as I’m passionate about making a positive contribution to our LAX society by boosting awareness for meaningful charities by organising fundraising events for all you lovely ladies alongside men’s lacrosse!! 🎊🍾

A bit about me 😝

💚 I’m a defender 💪- 3 seconds in the fan hates to see me coming 🙈 my weakness may be forgetting my mouthguard but I won’t forget the daily content💪😬

💚 - I’ll admit I’m not the best at chopping a pint - let’s not talk about Boddington when I got DOD and “downed” (sipped and gagged) my pint in what was it 3.5 mins🙈🙈🙈 still a personal best though!! but my talents lie elsewhere in making tiktoks and organising fun events 🕺

💚 - I love a Wednesday - my flatmates weren’t too impressed with the orange paint all over our walls post social (parrot was still defo the fav outfit🤭)

Why me?

I’m desperate to make a active tiktok account for WOMENS LAX (as well as a personal one for the 2s 😉) I’ve got many fundraising ideas for next year so we can all spend even more time together 🥰 this includes an ultramarathon - trying to do as many km as we can in 24hours followed by a pint-athon Ofc for all the hard work 😝💪 It would be great to support charities that means a lot to us as a club - I know us fresh secretly loved dressing up every Wednesday so if there’s a chance we can dress up while making money for charity sign me up. (Plus I know everyone loves doing the 5k runs really 😁 )

I have loved being a defender on the 2’s this year and think it’s only fair if all the other society’s can be jelous of our fun!! I already spend 90% of my time on my phone so it only felt right to put some use to it and boost our social accounts 😝 hopefully we can bring in some new players next year with the great content and involve some lax alumni !! 💚 Whether this may be behind the scenes (floodlight lighting will be perfect at training on a Tuesday winters evening 🤭🤩) or busting a move in popworld LAX CORNER 🤩

Lacrosse has been the highlight of my year as a fresh- whether it was playing through hail, having to drive back to Northumbria to get my key I left on the pitch (soz designated driver Sophia😬😘),watching joc throw to the wrong team 🤫 or scrambling for a mischief ticket 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻the people have made it unforgettable🤩
