Being the Mentor Coordinator involves forming partnerships for the academic year between Cutting Edge members and surgeons across the West Yorkshire area (preferably Leeds for convenience of students). The role would require you to contact all current mentors and any potential additions fitting the mentor description over the summer and obtain a full roster of available surgeons before recruiting new society members. You then survey new members to assess their preferred specialties for a surgical mentor and partner them accordingly whilst checking in at the start and end of each term on how both the students and mentors have been getting on. You have the freedom to organise events between mentors and students if you wish to do so. Over and above this you will be required to help the committee with the organisation and execution of big events such as conferences.
