Hi everyone! My name is Emilia Kuchta, and I’m a first-year LLB student, your candidate for Fem Soc Secretary.

I grew up in Leeds, where I developed a passion for justice and radical intersectional feminism. I’m a music lover (my Spotify is a safe space for Halsey, The Marias, Lana Del Rey, and Ethel Cain), and I thrive on organisation and creativity.

Why Me?
Throughout my time as a senior prefect and student ambassador, I’ve helped plan and execute events which required me to use my organisation, time-management and teamwork skills, which are all skills essential for the position of Secretary. I’ve also volunteered at the Empower Conference, gaining hands-on experience in event management. Working behind the bar has sharpened my time management, communication, and problem-solving skills which will make me the perfect candidate for the Fem SocSecretary.

What I’ll Bring to Fem Soc:
🧡 The Sister Project
A peer support scheme that pairs first-year students with older “big sisters” in similar degree fields to help them navigate university life with confidence and support.
📰 Monthly Newsletter
A vibrant round-up of Fem Soc events, opportunities for activism, as well as highlights from feminist art, media, and culture. This would enable members to stay informed, inspired, and connected.
🌈 Inclusive Collaboration
I want to collaborate with societies both in and outside of the university to celebrate and elevate the diversity of feminist voices through events, panels, and socials.
🗣 Your Voice Matters
I will create more space for members to offer feedback and shape the direction of Fem Soc activities. We're all a part of this society.
