Hi! I’m Sarah, a final-year Medical Engineering student. I’ve always wanted to actively contribute to the MedTech Society, and I think being part of the team would be a great opportunity! Earlier this year, I was in charge of Social Media for the Women in Engineering Society, and I’m very excited to bring that experience to MedTech, while also learning from and working with other people. I’ll do my best to contribute to the society and make sure I fulfil the role to the best of my ability if I’m selected. Thank you!

I’m a Medical Engineering student going into my second year. Over the summer I completed an internship in the university's Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering, looking into shoulder implant retrievals and exploring methods used to analyse their cause of failure. During this time an important skill I learnt was condensing both my initial research findings and the results from my practical analysis into readable formats that could be clearly understood by my supervisors and other researchers. I learnt how to visually present information in a way that conveys key points whilst not losing the reader, a skill I believe makes me a good candidate for the role of marketing and publicity officer in the Medtech Society. I have also previously completed an art foundation degree, which improved my illustrative skills. As someone who’s very keen to learn more about opportunities in the field of medical technology, I am eager to help out behind the scenes to encourage other budding engineers and medical science students to learn more about different aspects of the field and how they can get involved.
