Hello!
My name is Henry and I want to be LSTV's next Head of Light Entertainment.
Light Entertainment is important to me personally, so I KNOW how important it is for freshers. It was having opportunities like this available to me as a fresher that inspired me to join LSTV permanently.
I am qualified for the role. I was part of Masktaster: the biggest Light Entertainment production this year. This gave me important insight into what goes into the bigger productions in this area.
I also proved myself early on after joining LSTV, winning a Winter Award for Best New Presenter which I will put to good use. (Which I am very proud of).
I also don’t hate editing which, from the sounds of it, is a bonus around here. I am adamant on getting content edited and uploaded.

I think Light Entertainment is one of the cornerstones of the society and I want to expand this by making various changes to expand the reach of the society to both members and viewers.

Through ideas that are fun, relevant and easy to produce, I can focus on allowing members to be involved in projects that are both entertaining and a good entry point to learn about all aspects of the society in camera facing and behind the scenes roles. I will prioritise making Light Entertainment a tool to get freshers involved with a welcoming, easy way to get into the society.
Within these videos, I want to highlight the personalities and interactions of those who feature to bring out the most of each idea (This worked well for Locked In or Masktaster, which I definitely won).
I have plenty of ideas that fit this format like an LSTV ‘Would I Lie to You?’, an UNO poker night, Roast the Host, various challenge style videos, LSTV tries D&D, and more.
Another focus would be on adapting clips of these videos to shortform. This is the most popular ways to consume light entertainment and would help with social media.

At the end of the day, Light Entertainment is fun. It’s the stuff I personally enjoy. And I want to have fun with my mates while making videos. If I can do that while introducing people to the best society at Leeds in a fun, engaging way, then that sounds great. 10/10.

I LOVE LSTV! It is so important to me, giving me many amazing friendships that I know I will hold for life, as well as definitely enhancing my university experience in more ways than one. I am so happy that I joined this society, and I would love to be a bigger part of making everyone who joins feel the same way I do.

I believe that Light Entertainment should be focused on providing all members, new and current, with the chance to mess around a bit and have a great time! This would be extremely important to me within semester one especially, showing freshers a low-pressure and exciting introduction to LSTV. If I were voted head of Light Entertainment, I would be fully committed to making sure this happens. I am an active member within LSTV, contributing to videos in many different areas, and this means I have developed a good baseline of how organising videos work, and the things I don’t know I am always very willing to work my hardest to learn!

I like to think of myself as a friendly and approachable person (after all, I was voted society sweetheart at winter awards), meaning that I'd really encourage people to come to me with their own ideas that I will try my absolute best to make happen. As well as helping other people to create their own ideas, I also have a few myself that I would love to see happen. As I've written on my poster, these include an LSTV gogglebox featuring Belle View episodes, a Midnight Game show for people on the committee (if I could ever get them to agree), and a platform roulette, as well as many more! I think that making all of these would be so much fun for everyone to get involved in. Overall, I want to make sure I can continue showing how amazing and worth it joining LSTV is, and being the Head of Light Entertainment means I could be a part of making this happen!
