Why I want to be your secretary!
I am going into my third and final year of Nursing, therefore I would like the opportunity to give back to the Society who have always been very supportive for me throughout.

I wish to nominate myself for the role of secretary for the nursing society 2023/24.

I am currently a second-year mental health nursing student with a great passion for everything nursing-related and someone who likes to be organised. I work effectively and efficiently in communicating whether that be with my other course members or wider connections, and I enjoy working with others to achieve great things!

I have a background in organisation and administration and working alongside others across different teams. Examples include that I was deputy head girl in sixth form, an NCS graduate rep for the UK and currently I am a student rep for my cohort. From these experiences I have learnt skills that will be valuable and relevant to this role such as being timely, having problem-solving skills, good attention to detail, and relationship-building to name a few, all of which I believe are useful in relation to this role.

In addition, I have lots of ideas for events and extra things the society could organise such as coffee mornings, pottery painting, and getting some speakers in, which I believe could be really fun and beneficial to the society’s members.

I believe this is the perfect role for me as being part of the nursing society is something that I have wanted and would feel honoured to do. Furthermore, I feel like I would be well suited to being secretary; helping to keep the society organised, arranging events and other activities and getting involved in all other aspects of the society.
