I wish to nominate myself for the role of vice president for the nursing society 2023/24.
I am currently a second-year mental health nursing student with a great passion for everything nursing related and someone who loves to get her in hands in many different pies! I believe this is the perfect role for me as being part of the nursing society is something that I have wanted and would feel honoured to do. Furthermore, I feel like I would be well suited to being vice president as I have skills that I have learnt from previous roles/teams that I have worked with, that are really applicable to this role. Examples include that I was deputy head girl in sixth form, an NCS graduate rep for the UK and currently I am a student rep for my cohort. From these experiences I have learnt skills such as good leadership, strong teamwork, communication, being timely, having problem-solving skills, and relationship-building to name a few, all of which I believe are useful in relation to this role. In addition, I have lots of ideas of events and extra things the society could organise such as coffee mornings, pottery painting and getting some speakers in, which I believe could be really fun and beneficial to the society’s members. Being vice president would allow me to be able to put my skills and ideas into actions and to help make the society the best it can be for all our student nurses!
