Hi, My name is Mya Cullum, I am currently doing a year in industry, and I will be going into third year of Business management, and I am nominating myself to be your next president.

I have been on the Homed committee for two years now, in second year conducting the role of the treasurer and this year being the treasurer and event co-ordinator. During my two years on the committee, I have learnt a lot about how the society works and all the good that it does for the local community. My experience within the society makes me an ideal candidate for this role, having worked with the societies finances I have an understanding of the more practical side of the society, through filling out forms, approving expenses. Working more on events this year allowed me to think more creatively, and outside the box in ways that would help the society. It also improved my personable skills, ringing up venues and sourcing prizes, as well as running events. I believe this mix of skills will help me be a well-rounded president.

If I become your next president, I am excited to oversee everything the society does, from sandwich runs and hostel visits to fundraising event and carrying on the tradition of our music concert! And most importantly getting the word out about this society and the challenges homeless people face everyday.
