I would love to be a part of LOGSOC, a society which I think does an amazing job of representing the speciality within our medical school. As I am sure many agree, Obstetrics and Gynaecology is one of the most exciting and interesting specialities, which I couldn’t get enough of during my 4th year placement. Progressing from my first speculum to assisting a C-section, the adrenaline rush had me hooked to the speciality, leading my drive to apply for this clinical representative role. LOGSOC committee this year has been so inspiring with putting on all our revision talks and getting us prepared for exams. It is one of the reasons I am keen to be a part of the committee, as I am also interested in teaching and education. I aim to apply my knowledge from my Medical Education iBSc degree to help the society put on more educational opportunities for students, such as creating peer mentor programmes for those interested in getting further experience in the field and building their portfolios. I would aim to connect with the wider student cohort through using my position as a medical student council representative on the Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) committee, to raise awareness of events. As well as organising interactive talks and crash course revision sessions, an idea I have to improve communications with our student cohort is sending out feedback forms to gain a better understanding of what event styles and methods of learning are most useful for students. Being your clinical representative would be something I fully enjoy and dedicate my (precious) 5th year time to. I hope you vote for me!
