Hi ! We’re Louis and Cat, standing to be your Leeds Labour Society Co-chairs next year.

We are both currently based in London, working for Labour frontbenchers in Westminster.

We are absolutely loving it but can’t wait to be back in Leeds in September.


Here are our three missions for the society next year ...

(1) Help secure Labour victories in key seats throughout Yorkshire, whenever the election finally does come !

We will regularly visit seats like Leeds South West, Pennistone and Stocksbridge and Leeds North West.

This will be a fantastic opportunity to encourage new campaigners to make a real difference, and we are committed to making sessions accessible to all students regardless of their experience.

(2) Organise fun and inclusive socials throughout the year

We want to create an uplifting environment for all students through a packed social calendar with a range of activities.

(3) Welcome inspiring Labour friends to visits, talks, and campaigning sessions.

We will endeavour to be well connected to the wider Labour machine in Yorkshire; and encourage MPs, Mayors and Councillors to attend events with the society.


A bit about us ...

Hey I’m Louis. I've been interning in Ellie Reeves' Office this year, supporting her with her parliamentary affairs and campaign responsibilities, including visiting a number of the recent By-elections and target seats, and regularly attending campaign meetings in Parliament.

I was also a regular canvasser throughout Yorkshire in my first two years at University and have been heavily involved in my home CLP as a frequent campaigner across London.

I was on committee in 2nd Year and worked well with other members to make Leeds Labour Society a fun, inclusive and active society. I will use this experience to ensure we do the same next year.

Hiya, I’m Cat. I’ve been working for Dan Jarvis this year, predominantly as a caseworker but also supporting his campaign in support of Afghan veterans. It has been a real privilege to assist constituents and get a deep understanding of the issues that affect voters day-to-day.

I have knocked on doors and phone banked throughout Yorkshire, as well as back home in Norwich. It is clear how much this country needs a transformative government; I know that Louis and I will do whatever we can to get Leeds students out on the campaign trail.
