As a Jew from North London, Labour hasn’t always been a home for me. For the past four years, I have campaigned with the Jewish Labour Movement to turn the party around, and that is what has happened. I’m proud to now call it a party I can vote and campaign for. I would like to be your External Campaigns Officer because I know I can bring a Jewish perspective, as well as years of campaign experience in my Finchley & Golders Green constituency and across Yorkshire. I will create a lively campaigning schedule, continuing our collaborations with Sheffield Labour Society and others, and our friendships with local MPs like Rachel Reeves and Keir Mather. The upcoming election is the most exciting in decades and we at Leeds need to campaign tirelessly for a Labour administration. I have administrative skills, having directed two plays, which requires hours of admin, having run the politics and sociology Instagram pages for the university this year, and due to being an all-round perfectionist and Microsoft Office geek. In my campaigning activities, as well as in my two years in the Barnet seat on the UK Youth Parliament, I have made connections with Labour giants such as Wes Streeting and Thangam Debbonaire, on top of my active campaigning for one of Keir’s biggest target candidates, Sarah Sackman. I know how parliamentary and local campaigns work. I know how activists can get organised. I know the danger of antisemitism in student politics. I know how to turn things around.
