Hi, I’m Eve and I would love to be your president next year! Most of you may know me from socials or through organising your lessons. I have been part of this society for two years now with one year on committee. My role as lessons organiser has given me a great understanding of how the society runs and how the committee works overall. I’ve had the opportunity to meet members involved in every aspect of the society e.g. lessons, socials, teams which has only made my time in the club more enjoyable.

I would love to continue working to bring new opportunities and ideas to the club next year, persisting in making this club inclusive and gratifying for all members and abilities. I think of myself as friendly and welcoming to all, making so many great friends through the club these past two years. I can’t wait to meet even more new faces next year!

ABOUT ME:
- I study English Literature and Creative Writing and I’m going into my 3rd year
- I started riding when I was 8, volunteering and taking lessons at a riding school
- I got my 1st loan pony Apollo when I was 12 and then my 2nd Toby when I was 14
- I worked at a yard when I was 16 and taught some beginner lessons for young riders

MY SKILLS:
- During my lessons organiser role I have gained experience organising events and transport, constantly communicating with our yard TLE, answering member enquiries and working as a team with my fellow committee
- I have gained welfare training from the Union to help provide future support for our members and I will always be open to new suggestions for how to improve our club
- I have previously worked at a riding school, having experience in working with riders of all abilities. My knowledge of how a riding centre runs has helped immensely when communicating with TLE and planning events with them
- My job as a receptionist means that I have experience with customer service, admin work and professional communications. This will help with member enquiries, working with the union, and completing paperwork

Hi, I’m Amelia, and after two years as a member of LUUHRC competing, contributing, and being Social Secretary in my 2nd year- I’m excited to run for President. This society has been a huge part of my university experience, and I’m passionate about giving back to the community that has given me so much.

As President, my priority is to ensure LUUHRC remains a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all members. I am committed to making riding affordable and accessible to everyone regardless of ability or experience.

I will continue to build on our strong sense of community by expanding social opportunities and encouraging integration across lessons, teams, and year groups so every member- especially those new to the society- feels welcomed and included. Alongside this, I aim to strengthen connections with other societies and support new charitable initiatives, creating more opportunities for members to get involved.

With my experience on committee, I understand the importance of teamwork and supporting every role within the club. I will be a visible, approachable, and dedicated leader, ensuring that all members feel heard, valued, and supported.
